It was initially found in Wuhan city in China then it is spread to Italy, Spain, Briton, USA etc and it is vigoursly affected very fast in different parts of the world. What is Corona Virus (COVID -19)
The Coronavirus [COVID - 19] a most dangerous virus that has spread to the whole world making it a very disasterous virus. This virus was first emerged in the Wuhan city of China in December 2019. The Common symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Other symptoms may include muscle pain, sputum production, diarhoea, sore throat, abdominal pain, and loss of smell or taste.
The virus is mainly spread during close contact and via respiratory droplets produced when people cough or sneeze. Respiratory droplets may be produced during breathing but the virus is not considered airborne. People may also catch COVID-19 by touching a contaminated surface and then their face. It is most contagious when people are symptomatic, although spread may be possible before symptoms appear. The virus can live on surfaces up to 72 hours.
Personal protective equipment (PPE)
Precautions must be taken to minimize the risk of virus transmission, especially in healthcare settings when performing procedures that can generate aerosols, such as intubation or hand ventilation.
CDC outlines the specific guidelines for the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during the pandemic. The recommended gear includes:
- Respirator or Facemask
- Gown
- Medical gloves
- Eye protection
How to Prevent Corona Virus (COVID - 19)
Clean your hands often
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- It is not nessessary to use a soap, we can also use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
- Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- When we travel to another public places use a pocket hand sanitizer
Avoid close contact
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.
- Avoid getting in to near house if the family is having any type of dieseas like : cough, running nose, head ache etc....
Stay home if you’re sick
- Stay home if you are sick. Avoid going to another places.
Cover coughs and sneezes
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or towel when you are cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow. Throw used tissues in the basket.
- Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Wear a Mask if you are in sick
- If you are sick: You should wear a mask when you are around other people like : sharing a room or vehicle. If you are not able to wear a mask like because it causes tough breathing then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes
- If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a mask unless you are caring for someone who is affected by coronavirus (and they are not able to wear a facemask).
Clean and disinfect
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.
- If surfaces are dirty, clean them: Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection
