Alleppey Project Launches with Handful of Goodies for School Children to Alleviate Poverty
Alappuzha: School students of the district have come forward to help the poor people of the district. The district level inauguration of the 'Children for Alleppey - A handful of good' project initiated by Krishna Teja at Cherthala South GHAS was attended by Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare Department Minister P. Performed by Prasad.
School students of Alappuzha are setting an example for the world by delivering a handful of food products to the hungry. The Minister said that the special feature of this project is that children take the initiative to eradicate poverty. District Panchayat President KG Rajeshwari presided. A.M. Arif MP was the chief guest.
'A Handful of Goodness - Children for Alleppey' is a project conceived involving school students in Alappuzha district, where the culture of sharing is the hallmark.
The first Monday of every month is observed as 'Community Service Day' in schools and daily use materials are collected from the children. The materials thus collected will be delivered to the deserving people.
District Govt., Aided, Unaided, CBSE, ICSE Officials informed that all the schools involved will be part of the 'A Handful of Goodness' scheme.
